At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts II, the King is seen to be wearing an black coat similar to those that Organization XIII wears. Once he takes that fashionable ensemble off, he can be seen wearing an outfit mostly composed of red, with yellow straps on the shirt and yellow pockets on his pants. The shirt is trimmed in white and has black sleeves. And he is, of course, wearing his trademark white gloves and yellow shoes.

Personality
King Mickey is generally an optimistic character, although he knows and acknowledges it when times are tough. He knows when it's appropriate to be serious and often is, but sometimes he uses his typical happy manner to cheer others up, if he thinks it's necessary. As a former apprentice of Yen Sid and a friend of Ansem the Wise, he is very knowledgeable about what is going on with the worlds. And since he rules Disney Castle, he tries to show respect to his subjects and keep his sense of justice about him. He is also extremely loyal to his friends, as seen when he refuses to tell Sora where Riku is, upon his request. And if a friend of his is hurt or threatened, he will of course jump in to save them in whatever way possible.

He does, however, deal with a certain amount of stubbornness. When Mickey wants to do something, and he wants to do it himself, he is determined to do so, as shown when he simply disappears from Disney Castle without warning. Flattery can also get you places with him, since he does have the slightest touch of an ego, but it never really gets too inflated for him to handle. This mischievous side of King Mickey doesn't show quite as often anymore; his schooling with Master Yen Sid taught him the wealth of self-discipline that this courageous mouse has used throughout his years as a ruler and fighter for the light.

Abilities
King Mickey is a denizen of light, and he has a very strong heart. As such, he can wield a Keyblade – specifically, Darkside. When fighting, he harnesses his agility to attack the enemy, dealing damage quickly and getting the heck outta dodge. He's better with aerial attacks and combos, as his speed is used more effectively. Occasionally, he appears to help Sora when he's in a pickle, healing him with Pearl and/or fighting in his place.

In Daisychain, Mickey is severely limited with physical strength, and although his agility isn't as affected, he does move considerably slower. Magic, while still available to him, takes much longer to cast than it normally would, and most of the higher-level spells are unavailable to him. He can still use Pearl, however, it doesn't heal as much as it used to. And while he can summon Darkside in Manhattan, it doesn't come to him as quickly as it should and gives him major headaches to boot. And even then, he can't hold it for long.

Weaknesses
Mickey is strong, but since he tends to rely on speed in a battle, power isn't his strongest point. When he stops to use Pearl, he does exactly that – he stops. And in doing so, he makes himself vulnerable to both physical and magical attacks. Darkness is a thing that strikes fear in the King, since he lives in the realm of Light, and too much of it can hinder him just a bit, even though he will still fight. He is a stubborn mouse, and can get a little prideful at times, though that is somewhat rare.

Manhattanite or outsider?
Outsider

History
King Mickey started out as a lowly sailor aboard Captain Pete's steamboat. After a while, Mickey grew weary of that business and left to become an apprentice to Yen Sid. He was worked hard before he was taught anything, and punished for any misbehavior, such as when he put on the Master's hat and played with magic. Nevertheless, the wise old magician taught him quite a bit of the magical arts, and presented him with a Keyblade named Star Seeker upon his leave. This is likely when he became an active persona of the Key Wielders, going to other worlds to save them from the Darkness and Heartless. He supposedly had an encounter with Aqua, Ven, and Terra, although any information about this is yet unknown. Later on, he became the King of Disney Castle (perhaps even established it himself) and had a loyal following composed of his friends and allies.

At one point, however, he left unexpectedly, leaving a letter in his throne saying that he was going to learn more about the Heartless threat. He wasn't spotted again until the doors to Kingdom Hearts were being closed with he and Riku behind them, Darkside Key in hand.

He was next seen in Castle Oblivion, helping Riku fight the Darkness that threatened to overtake him again – Ansem. At that point, he was only seen faintly, as he was far away. He did, however, show up in the flesh upon meeting DiZ, donning an Organization coat and choosing to walk the “road to Dawn” with Riku.

He is seen briefly after Sora wakes up in Twilight Town, as well, to save the boy from a group of Dusks and give him a munny pouch for a ticket to Yen Sid's tower. Throughout Sora's journey, he appears to help every now and then, but refuses to give any information on Riku at his request.
